What is Imikan AI?
Imikan AI is a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) platform built by Imikan Technologies Ltd. You upload a document and ask questions about it in plain language, and Imikan answers from the document itself, with the source cited.
How does Imikan AI work?
Upload your document (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel/CSV, plain text, or Markdown). Imikan reads, chunks, and indexes it. Then ask a question the way you'd ask a person, and Imikan answers from the document, citing the page the answer came from.
What is Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)?
Retrieval-Augmented Generation is a technique where the AI first retrieves the exact passages of your document relevant to your question, then generates a natural-language answer grounded in what it actually found -- rather than answering from general knowledge -- with the source cited so you can check it yourself.
Does Imikan AI ever make things up?
Imikan AI is built specifically to avoid this. Instead of answering from general knowledge, it retrieves the exact passages of your document relevant to your question first, then generates its answer from what it actually found there, and cites the source so you can check it against the original document yourself.
Can I ask follow-up questions in the same conversation?
Yes. Each document you upload lives in its own private chat, so you can keep asking follow-up questions about it within that same conversation.

What file formats does Imikan AI support?
PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel/CSV, plain text, and Markdown.
Is there a limit on file size or number of documents?
Limits on document count, storage, and monthly queries vary by plan -- see the Pricing page for the exact limits on the Free, Starter, Professional, and Business tiers.
Can I ask questions about specific rows in an Excel or CSV file?
Yes. Imikan AI reads Excel and CSV files the same way it reads any other document -- you can ask natural-language questions and get answers cited back to the specific row they came from.
Accuracy & Citations
How accurate are Imikan AI's answers?
Because Imikan answers from the retrieved passages of your own document rather than from general knowledge, its answers are grounded in what's actually in the document you uploaded, and every answer cites the source so you can verify it yourself.
What does it mean that answers are "cited"?
Every answer Imikan AI gives points back to where it came from -- the page, row, or slide in your document -- so you're never just taking the answer's word for it.
Privacy & Security
Is my data private?
Yes. Every document you upload is private to the chat it's uploaded in, and protected by Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Imikan AI doesn't turn your documents into public content.
Who can see my documents?
Only you. Documents are stored privately per conversation and protected by Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) -- Imikan AI doesn't make your documents or your questions about them public.
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes, from your account settings. Deleting your account is permanent -- your documents and chat history are deleted forever, and you won't be able to sign up again with the same email address, so it's worth being sure before you do it.
Does Imikan AI support two-factor authentication (MFA)?
Yes. You can enable MFA on your account for extra protection against unauthorized access.
Pricing, Billing & Plans
Is there a free plan?
Yes. New users get 2 free document uploads and 10 queries per month.
What plans does Imikan AI offer?
Four plans: Free (get started at no cost with limited documents and queries), Starter (more documents, queries, and storage for regular individual use), Professional (our most popular plan, for regular individual or small-team use), and Business (the highest self-serve limits, for teams with heavier document and query needs).
Can I pay monthly or annually?
Yes. Paid plans can be billed monthly or annually, with the annual option showing its equivalent monthly cost for easy comparison.
How do I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my plan?
From Settings → Billing, or the Manage Subscription button on your current plan -- both take you to a secure billing portal where you can change plans, update your payment method, view invoices, or cancel.
What happens if I reach my plan's limit?
You'll see a notice letting you know you've reached your document, storage, or query limit for the period, along with the option to upgrade to a higher plan.
Is there a plan for teams or heavier, custom usage?
The Business plan covers the highest self-serve limits, for teams with heavier document volume and query needs. If you need more than that -- custom limits, dedicated storage, dedicated support, or an SLA -- you can reach out directly.
